Hardware Version 1 (Legacy)

The original version of the Door Controller connection board was constructed using standard stripboard (veroboard) and acted as an Arduino “shield”.

It had no native Ethernet connectivity, using serial (RS-232) only.

Photos

One of the first deployments of v1 was in Edinburgh; one of the original boards from this installation can be seen in the photos below.

Pre-Arduino Shield

Before the board was manufactured as an Arduino shield, it was a standalone design using wire-wrap on stripboard, with an Atmel ATMEGA328 microprocessor, RS232 level shifter, and screw terminals for connections.
